In the forest of Elverum grows the world's most expensive mushroom. The Matsutake, treasured by the Japanese since ancient times, requires very special terrain to thrive. The best specimens can cost several thousand dollars per kilo. After seeking them for years, I find two Matsutakes in the forest a few hours north of Oslo.
